Tree shadows on path painting
Acrylic on canvas, 12x16"
The painting is on a stretched canvas, painted round the sides, with a string on the back, so it is ready to hang as it is, or can be framed if you prefer.
During a walk on a dull-ish day, sunlight suddenly broke through the clouds and cast shadows from the trees across the path. The scene was suddenly transformed from nothing extraordinary to something more beautiful and dramatic. It was a shortlived moment of beauty until the sun went back behind the clouds, which makes it seem more valuable, and I wanted to capture it in a painting. The colours are a bit exaggerated from real life but seem to express more of how it felt to be there than the photographs I took of the real thing.
