The painting is on a stretched canvas, painted round the sides, with a string on the back, so it is ready to hang as it is, or can be framed if you prefer.

I will often start a painting in wildly garish colours and then tone it down as much or as little as I feel suits it. Occasionally, as with this one, I will start off with very little colour (I started this painting in only Payne's Grey and White) and then add hints of colour. I like the dramatic feel of a dark painting, and the feeling of appreciating the small amounts of colour in amongst the darkness.
