The painting is on a stretched canvas, painted round the sides, with string on the back, so it is ready to hang as it is or can be framed if you prefer.

I find it very enjoyable to try to copy the paintings I love. I've painted only a section of Botticelli's painting so that I could concentrate on practising portraits of the human face. It was a challenge to try to paint a woman who was supposed to be seen as a perfect image of female beauty. In the original I like the calm, relaxed, gentle and dreamlike expression on the woman's face and the natural feel with her hair blowing in the wind. I've painted my version in a style that I like, using lots of colour.
